Mia Hamm

Mia Hamm played with the U.S. women’s national soccer team for 17 years. She won the Women’s World Cup in 1991 and 1999. She also won gold medals in the Olympics during 1996 and 2004. She held the record for most international goals scored, but her record was broken by Abby Wambach. Hamm is considered the best female soccer player in history. She has been elected Soccer USA’s “Female Athlete of the Year” five years in a row. Mia Hamm is an amazing person who shows that anyone can make something great of themselves, her hard work and determination really show based on everything she has done over the years. Technology could have helped her in many ways, for example thanks to all the media in the world she was able to become internationally known.

Reflection: Mia Hamm is definitely someone who could be looked up to, she has done amazing things in her life and you could see that she had to work hard to get there. It’s nice to see that she didn’t give up because things got a little rocky; she kept going and was determined to reach her goals. This shows that if you keep your mind on your goals and you work hard on them, they are sure to become a reality. 

Marvin Goldstein

Marvin Goldstein is one of the most traveled pianists and entertainers. He began his musical training when he was nine years old. And got rewarded a scholarship to Tel Aviv University School of Music when he was 18. He has received many awards and has over 30 albums. In order for Goldstein to get to where he is, he had to be a hard working individual. He also had to be persistent and determined because the road to success is never easy. I think with the technology such as cameras and the internet, it was easier for people all around the world to get find out who Goldstein was faster. Back when there was no technology you it took more time for people to find out about a person but with all the technology today and many social medias out there, things can get popular very fast. All you need now is a camera to take a video and then you upload to the web and anybody around the world can see it.
